I'm Kristen Mackoul, the founder of THE AFTERS, and I built this program because I needed it first.
I learned nervous system regulation out of necessity- through grief, endings, career pivots and rebuilding more than once.
There was a period of my life spent traveling where everything slowed down just enough for me to see the truth: I wasn't inherently broken...I was dysregulated AF. I learned how to stay capable, keep moving, and hold it together, even when my inner world was asking for something calmer.
I've explored psychology, somatic work, EFT, hypnosis, and various energetic practices because I needed tools that worked in real time. After endings. After change. During grief when life didn't pause just because I needed support.
What became clear over time was this:
